How to make your own body butter step by step with pictures (esspecially for eczema, dry skin, pregnancy, stretch marks)
Skin is the largest organ of our body. It absorbs every thing that is being applied on it. Most of the time we apply creams that contains loads of crap in it. Doesn't matter if its expensive creams or the ones from the drug store. No wonder more and more people these days are suffering from many unexplained diseases. Especially pregnant women must emphasize on the ingredients what they apply to their skin. In a recent test done on baby umbilical cord have shown around more than 200 type of chemical compounds found in it. Babies are born with loads of chemicals in them. Obviously not all the 200 chemicals comes from lotions and creams but we need to minimise the number by watching what we apply on our skin. This Body butter is rich in Vitamin E, natural antibacterial and anti ageing properties. It soothes, moisturizes and heals the skin. People suffering from eczema or very dry skin will definitely benefit from this body butter. It contains Tea tree oil which helps sooth the itchy skin, people suffering from eczema can totally relate to this. This recipe calls for all natural ingredients and is absolutely chemical free.
You will need :-
- 3/4 cup Organic unrefined Shea butter
- 10 drops of Organic vitamin E oil
- 1/2 cup of Organic extra virgin Coconut oil
- 4 drops Tea tree oil
- 10 drops Bio Oil ( optional)
- 5 drops essential oil of your choice or Oud oil (optional)
* the measurements are just a rough guideline. You can adjust the amount as per your taste.
| Add coconut oil and Shea butter in the food processor bowl
first hand blend the Shea butter and coconut oil till the Shea butter breaks into small pieces
|
It should look something like this
now mix this in the mixer till its smooth and creamy
Once its smooth and creamy, now is the time to add your Vit E oil, tea tree oil, Bio oil, and your essential oils or oud oil
Mix one final time till all ingredients well incorporated. Transfer the cream into a clean jar.
This cream can last you for a few months. You need to apply only a little of it and you will be surprise at how a little of it goes a long way to moisturize your skin. Massage the cream well in circular motion on your skin especially on trouble area such as the stretch mark prone areas. I ordered the Organic unrefined Shea butter from Amazon. The rest of the oils I manage to get them from drug store. The Oud oil, I normally get them from the Arabian Oud shop.
P/s:- I want you to go now and check the ingredient labels on your lotions and body creams. If you see to many ingredients what you cant read or spell then ditch it in the bin right away. The sooner you start taking charge of what goes in and on your body, the better it is. There will be no regrets for sure.
