Raw Vegan and Paleo Green smoothie recipes


Smoothies are the best way to consume your vegetables and fruits on the go if you are always busy or just plain lazy to eat them in your salad. The vitamins are still intact as it is raw unlike when you cook them the vitamins gets reduced. I usually have smoothies for my lunch and I love it green. I usually use simple easy ingredients in my smoothies. When making green smoothies you need to add some amount of fats in it in order to make the nutrients in the green vegetables more bio available. Fats makes it easier for the absorptions of the vitamins and nutrients from the vegetables in the body. Adding a type of fruit also makes the smoothie more interesting and delicious. The base of my smoothies is usually a dairy free yogurt. My favourites are coconut and almond yogurt. It is packed with probiotics which aids in a healthy digestive system. One glass of a smoothie is equals to a meal for me. It is nutrients dense and fills me up till dinner time. You can make this in advance at night for your next day breakfast or lunch take away for work. But never keep this smoothie more than 24 hours as the nutrients just gets minimised with the time. If you want glowing skin and an energized body, you have to start eating your vegetables. So without further a do, lets get started on these delicious glass of age defying drink recipe......

Green smoothie recipe 1 :-

  • 2 handfuls of kale 
  • 3 tbsp of yogurt
  • 1/3 tsp of turmeric
  • 1/3 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 riped frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup of filtered water if required
Blend yogurt with sunflower seed and banana and the spices. Blend till smooth. Add the greens  lil by li till all well blended and combined. Add water if necessary. 


Green smoothie recipe 2 :-

  • 3 romaine lettuce leaves
  • a handful of baby spinach 
  • 3 tbsp of yogurt
  • 1 apple skin peeled off
  • 1/3 of a avocado
  • 1/3 teaspoon of turmeric and cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of filtered water if required
Blend yogurt with avocado, sliced apples and the spices. Blend till smooth. Add the greens  lil by li till all well blended and combined. Add water if necessary. 



Green smoothie recipe 3 :-

  • a handful of kale 
  • a handful of baby spinach
  • 1 tbsp of almonds
  • 1 tsp of pumpkin seeds
  • thin slices of ginger 
  • 3 tbsp of yogurt
  • 1/3 tsp of cinnamon and turmeric 
  • 1 green apple skin peeled off 
  • 2 kiwis 
Blend yogurt with almond, pumpkin seeds, kiwi, apple, ginger and the spices. Blend till smooth. Add the greens  lil by li till all well blended and combined. Add water if necessary. 




Notes.- I prefer to use presoaked nuts and seeds as to remove the phytonutrients from the nuts and seeds. You can garnish the smoothies with seeds, dried coconut flakes and with spices. Adding spices to the smoothies has its own benefits. It is optional but highly recommended. A smoothie can only replace a meal if it has all the three major components in a meal, that is carbohydrate, fats, and protein. It is also high in fiber. You can get creative by adding other vegetables or fruits and use other spices to spice up the smoothie. Do try this recipes and enjoy this nutrient dense smoothie with your loved ones.
